GongYoga therapy takes you deeper!
GongYoga-therapy is transformative and may facilitate both physical, mental and spiritual healing to the client. I design a spesific GongYoga-therapy session for you based on your needs and wishes involving asana, meditation, pranayama, intention and specific Gong-playing sequences. The asana (s) and pranayama prepares the body and mind and supports the energetic release and rebalancing during the GongBath.
The cells of our body enjoy the vibration of sound
Each organism has its own vibratory rate. Every object in the universe has its own unique resonant frequency. You are vibrating right now, singing a song that is your unique tune. Within you, each of your organs are vibrating at a specific frequency. Use the analogy of an orchestra and each of your organs is a different section. When each of these sections is tuned, it creates harmony within your body. Illness manifests when something within you is out of tune. Stress, trauma, anger, and environment are just a few factors that could cause your body to experience dis-ease. They can manifest as physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual disturbances.
Tap a wineglass and it will emit a ringing sound determined by its size, shape and the thickness. When an opera singer vibrates a glass with her voice the singer has matched her voice to the resonant frequency of the glass and set it into vibration. As the singer increases the volume of her sound the resonance becomes too great for the forces that hold the glass together and it shatters.
Luckily, our bodies are more flexible than a glass! The cells of our body enjoy the vibration of sound.
If a singing bowl or gong tuned to 'C' is struck and placed next to another 'C' singing bowl or gong, the second instrument will begin to resonate together with the first. The sound wave from the first instrument has imparted some of its energy to the second one.
If the singing bowl is placed on a metal, glass or wooden object, this object will begin to vibrate. A simple experiment can be conducted by placing a singing bowl on the top of one's chest. You will find that bone is an excellent conductor of sound.
The human body is made up of 70% water; this makes it a very good conductor of sound.
Modern medicine now uses sound waves to break up kidney and gallstones in the body. The machine used is called a Lithotripter. This machine bombards the stones with a specific sound frequency for one to two hours. The patient is admitted in the morning and discharged in the evening. Generally no anaesthetic is needed. With most patients only one treatment is necessary to break the stones down. The pulverised stone is passed out of the body through the urine.
Spesific resonant frequency
Every organ, every bone, every cell in the body has its own resonant frequency. Together they make up a composite frequency like the instruments of an orchestra. When one organ in the body is out of tune it will affect the whole body. Through the principle of resonance it is possible to use sound to bring the body back into harmony hence avoiding the need for drugs or surgery.
The healing effects of Gong
Gong has a healing effect not only due to the vibrations at different frequencies and resonance, but also through it's slow rhytm when played, that slows down the brainwaves, breathing rate and heart beat. Gongs provide resonance for the dissonate vibrations to tune, a body-part out of tune (dissonate) wil start vibrating with the same frequency as the Gong is played (called Entrainment). When we hear music rich in harmonics, like Gregorian Chant, a cappella singing or the rich harmonics (overtones) from the Gong it induces an altered state of consciousness. It changes our brain patterns so that we feel more relaxed, more connected with the music.
"There are some small sensory organs we have everywhere; in our skin, in our bones and in our internal organs - and the pacini system runs to the brain at very high speed and very high strength." The small organs act as bass microphones in the body, sending signals to the area of the brain, where the symptoms of pain, smell, taste and sawgar epilepsy arise and seize them. By playing music and bass for patients, the sensory nervous system is overloaded with an impression in such a way that symptoms can be erased or completely vanished." Says Neurologist and Superior Doctor at Holbæk Hospital, Peter Michael Nielsen, who has been researching music stimulation for 30 years. With EU researches in his back, he is now participating in a research project to investigate whether music and Gong can relieve neurological aftermath after COVID-19, where reduced sense of smell and taste, headache, pain and fatigue are often long-term followers.
Individual sessions are great if you want to explore holding patterns, emotional blockages, have a deeply relaxing, stress-reducing session, explore your voice and liberate your self.
